The fact that the professor slips into a Star Wars costume and gives a lecture on journeys to the stars is only possible at the Children's University in Lichtenberg (KUL). This very special series of events, in which questions such as "Can bones speak?" or "How did the ancient Egyptians calculate?", is now celebrating its 20th anniversary.
The anniversary will be celebrated with a "Day of KULen Wissenschaft" on November 5, 2022 in the Anna Seghers Library. Among other things, a talk show is planned in which children can question the district councilor for youth, short lectures and scientific experiments. As always, the lectures at the children's university will take place at the University of Applied Sciences in Karlshorst. It now attracts children from all over Berlin.
But that was not always the case: "Without the support of the universities, the district and HOWOGE, the children's university would not have survived," sums up Annette Bäßler, who helped organize the series.
